We can produce everything from a 20-page booklet detailing a brief history of your company or the career of a retiring employee, to a picture book, mid-size trade paperback or large hardcover “coffee table” book. For a clearer understanding of the major steps in producing a biographical book, see Creating Your Biography.

What can be done in the format of a printed book?  Some examples…

As the CEO of a large plumbing supply company prepared to retire and turn the reins of the company over to his nephew, a biography of his career, created from a four-hour interview, was written, printed and bound with a glossy paper cover and a limited number of illustrations. One hundred copies were printed and the book was given out as a gift at his retirement party.

A non-profit organization combined four hours of interview time with pre-existing materials and photos to create a 72-page book with illustrations describing the current organization, its past and its goals for the future. It was a black and white paperback book with a color cover.  They used it as a public relations tool and also sold it as a fund raiser.

An architectural firm combined photos of many of the buildings they had designed over their 34 years in business and captions they created with a biographer into a picture book. A mid-size law firm did the same with photos, quotes and short captions regarding its building, partners and history. Both companies used these books as marketing material.

A winery commissioned a biography for its seventy-fifth anniversary. It was a very “high end” book, about 175 pages long with a cloth binding and leather hard cover, with offset printing, full-color photos, many interviewees and a large amount of time spent researching its history. They used it as a corporate gift and also sold it in their gift shop.
